"Channeling, in person or by telephone, is one method in which Diandra reaches her clients. Diandra greets clients with warmth and enthusiasm in an office decorated with Native American folk art and crystals in her apartment off Raymond Road. She is immediately and immensely likable. She explains that she will "move into your energy and tell you what I am seeing," and without theatrics or special effects - and, impressively, without watching to see if you are responding positively or negatively to her observations - proceeds to do just that.
Diandra is very good at what she does. My hour-long consultation, recorded for objective listening at my leisure, combined some insights which could have been the educated guesses of an experienced observer, revelations of past lives of which I am in no position to argue, and enough personal details about which she could have had no possible knowledge to convince me I was, at the very least, in the presence of an extremely intuitive woman.
Diandra is not a fortune teller or a prophesier of the tabloid mode. In fact Batavia explained, "we really believe that we create our own reality, and that prediction only reinforces what you already know; it is not set in concrete. Channeling does not reveal an absolute future; the future is changing. We have the power to change our reality and to create a new reality. Prophecies are given to be changed."
In the past decade, the number of channelers has increased dramatically throughout the world. One explanation given in the metaphysical community is that humanity is at the end of a very long cycle of spiritual evolution, a 146,000-year cycle, and, notes Batavia, "even many major religions agree that something is going to happen."
